From Pralognan-la-Vanoise, follow the signs for Les Prioux. Leave your car at the Pont de la Pêche car park and walk to the refuge in 40 minutes (average time). The most pleasant route is on your left, via Montaimont. This will allow you to avoid the road on the right, which is heavily used by farmers, guides and refuge wardens (vehicles are essential for their professional activities). Walking boots are required!

The Refuge du Roc is a high-altitude mountain refuge. You will need to leave your vehicle in Pralognan-la-Vanoise! The road leading to Les Prioux and the Pont de la Pêche car park is snow-covered, making it ideal for cross-country skiers, snowshoers and ski tourers.
Start by following the ski touring trails that climb up the Vallée de Chavière to Pont de Gerlon, the end of the cross-country ski trails. From there, take an unsecured high mountain path, which is groomed by the refuge warden for supply purposes. Follow this trail to Pont de la Pêche and continue along the marked trail on the left towards Montaimont until you reach Refuge du Roc, where you can recover from your winter hike with a nice hot chocolate!
Please note that at an altitude of 1,900 metres, the mountains can be full of surprises! In other words, weather conditions can change quickly. Therefore, if you are coming in winter, we strongly recommend that you contact us the day before your stay to find out about snow and weather conditions.
