The Refuge du Roc, located at an altitude of 1,911 metres above the village of Pralognan-la-Vanoise, is built on the ruins of a former monastery of the Augustinian Order, who lived there from 1150 to 1450. A trace left by the centuries-old history of this exceptional site, the 12th-century chapel will give you the opportunity to immerse yourself in the past with its carved wooden altar and details evoking the traditional sacred art of the region.
Although the former Refuge du Roc de la Pêche has now become the Refuge du Roc, its vocation to welcome mountain lovers has not changed! Today, we offer all the comforts of modern accommodation. Our rooms for 4 to 6 people are equipped with private showers and hot water all year round: ideal for your well-being between hikes on the ridges. And to continue the tradition, we will inform you of dinner time to the sound of the trézain.

We have rooms designed to accommodate 4 to 6 people. For your comfort, they are equipped with a bathroom and washbasin. What’s more, there’s no need to bring anything with you when you come to the Refuge du Roc: we provide duvets, sheets and pillows.

Because it is important to spend time together and enjoy moments that break with everyday life, you can choose a double room that is as cosy as it is welcoming, a truly soothing cocoon within the Refuge.
The dome
Summer or winter, our dome is perfect for those who love unusual nights. You will be lulled by the sounds of nature and have plenty of time to contemplate the changing colours on the surrounding peaks, where the glacier and the stars come together to create an unforgettable spectacle.
Saunas
Whatever the season, you will appreciate the benefits of the sauna at your disposal, with direct access for a dip in the snow for the less sensitive to the cold. A true refuge in our Refuge, where you will feel as if time has stood still…
The Nordic bath
Heated by wood fire to an ideal temperature of around 38°C and offering breathtaking views of the glacier, the Nordic bath completes the sauna experience. You’re sure to appreciate it after a day spent on the surrounding trails!
Leisure areas for everyone
We pay close attention to each and every one of our visitors. That’s why children can enjoy wooden games and a dedicated mezzanine area, a toboggan run in winter and marmots in summer, while adults can relax in the reading corner or play a game of pool.
